Love is a CHOICE, not a FEELING or MOOD.
Any young married, old married, estranged couple, separated couple, or anyone who needs reminding why they should stay in their commitment, should read the following monologue from the film “A Beautiful Mind.” (emphasis mine)
Alecia Nash: “Often what I feel is obligation, guilt over wanting to leave, rage against John, against God.
But then I look at him, and I force myself to see the man that I married,
and he becomes that man.
He’s transformed into someone that I love.
And I’m transformed into someone who loves him.”
You will find NOTHING in the next relationship that you can’t CHOOSE TO FIND with the “wife (or husband) of your youth.”
The grass is not greener on the other side of the fence or anywhere else. It’s greener where you water it.
